16 years ago today, SCOTUS sided with big corporations over the American people in their infamous Citizens United ruling.

That decision paved the way for unchecked & secret money in our politics & helped billionaires & special interests buy more elections.

We must reverse it.

DHS says they have a “list” of around 1,400 people to round up in what they’re calling “Operation Catch of the Day” — a completely disgusting and inhumane name for their terror campaign in our state.

At a time of unprecedented daily scandals, this this whistleblower complaint, and the memo it reveals for the first time, breaks through for me as beyond the pale.

Witnesses said two teenagers and possibly a third woman were taken away by federal agents.

Federal agents pinned a man to the ground in south Minneapolis and sprayed him with chemical irritants directly in the face.

Minnesota Star Tribune photographer Rich Tsong-Taatarii did not witness the man put his hands on agents.

They are targeting children because they are trying incite violence. I have talked to many journalists today, and they all made the same observation: Border Patrol and ICE have been rolling around with maximum aggression, lingering for ages as crowds, gather, seemingly trying to cause a riot.

I know the material reasons for the rise of fascism. I also think another reason - which doesn’t get talked about as much because it’s embarrassing that humans can be that naive - is that when you are financially comfortable but bored, abstract cruelty can give you a sense of purpose.
