You can’t demonize educators and then act surprised when they leave the profession.

Iowans deserve better than politicians playing politics with our childrens’ futures. It really is that simple.

The resemblance is uncanny!

Senator Ernst’s callous remark at her town hall today show a lack of tact and care for the Iowans she is supposed to protect. We deserve better, and Joni needs to go next November!

I’m called by my faith to do better by my fellow humans so that they might see Christ’s love through me. That includes calling out falsehoods when I see them.

This is not Christian love. This is heresy wrapped in a patriotic package masquerading as a moral Christian leader.

This sounds more like a campaign rally ramble than an address to the nation. I miss the eloquent speeches of presidents past…

This speech reminds me of a playground without a teacher: chaotic and run by a big lying bully.

What Trump isn't talking about tonight...

His approval ratings are plummeting

The economy is showing major signs of strain due to his policies

DOGE looks more and more like a giant hoax

The GOP is trying to gut Social Security and Medicaid to pave the way for big tax cuts for the rich

Hello?

It’s ironic that FOTUS talks about winning jobs based on merit considering someone had to buy this election for him…

There is a blind spot for Democrats and it's rural America. We are so uncomfortable working in rural spaces that we've completely given up trying to speak to rural people -- after we abandoned them for decades we turn around and call them racists for voting for Republicans.

Ask me how I know...

While the legislature takes away the rights of Iowans, the cancer crisis continues to loom. Why is this not at the top of their priority list?
We should be putting real effort into figuring this out- not just $1M to buy a talking point. A single case usually costs over $100K to treat. Cutting cancer rates would not just save lives, it would save money.

The GOP is trying to strip gender identity from the Iowa Civil Rights Code. Many GOP legislators try to spin an opposite narrative when called out on this action. Luckily, we have the receipts! As Representative Steve Holt (R-Denison) says, “Darn those pesky facts!

HSB242 (now HF583), a bill to strip protections for gender identity from the IA Civil Rights Code, passed through judiciary. Of interest is this quote from Jud. Chair Holt’s newsletter. Today it’s one vulnerable community, tomorrow who knows - especially with thoughts like this!

Incrementalism is not the only beast that brought us here, but it has proven to be the most damning. If you haven’t already done so, it’s time to jump out the pot.

You don’t have to win an election to keep advocating for the people of Iowa. Far from it actually. I’d like to share a little bit of my post-election mindset as we continue to navigate these troubling and uncertain times.

Continuous improvement means driving out fear and eliminating redundant or asinine work requirements. This isn’t continuous improvement - it’s dismantlement under the guise of “efficiency.”

This not ok, and we must reject this type of rhetoric any time it rears its hateful head.

I do agree with Rep. Bagniewski, however that their covering of faces is chickenshit. If you’re going to be hateful, own it.

How does this Republican led Congress and administration help the working class exactly? I’ll be waiting here with bated breath…
At the behest of Wall Street donors, Congressional Republicans are trying to overturn the CFPB's new rule against predatory overdraft fees.

The rule would have capped overdraft charges at $5, saving consumers $5B annually.

The GOP is the party of junk fees.
Banks Approve of Republicans Increasing Bank Fees
A Biden-era CFPB rule limiting overdraft fees is under challenge, and lawmakers used bank lobbyists for their testimonials.

Perhaps the firing of “incompetent DEI hires” was what kept the flying public safer? Recent events make me leery of flying anytime during this administration.
The flying public needs answers. How many FAA personnel were just fired? What positions? And why?

I had the exact same experience in rural Iowa. And ironically I’ve done a lot of religious serving with those very same people all over this area. The bias runs deep.
I ran for the State House in 2022.

I knocked a lot of rural doors. Folks would listen to me, often agree with me on most issues, and then find out I was running as a Democrat. I can't count the number of people who said they couldn't vote for a Democrat because they were Christian.

Facts:
1) Gov Reynolds doesn’t want the ELECTED auditor to do his job.
2) The Gov established an Iowa DOGE to “stamp out inefficiency” in government.
3) The GOP has been in power for nearly 10 years.

Why have an IA DOGE when you have a perfectly capable state auditor? Unless she’s hiding something…
