A mixture of Anne Shirley, Amelia Bedelia, and aspirationally Joan Didion. Happy that I get to be a therapist, and always in search of the next book or music that'll become my whole world for the next little bit.

At the time I thought they were pretty annoying but I miss the alternative rock radio dj's that affected fake, caricatured southern california stoner voices for on air and said stuff like comin up we have 45 minutes of non stop alternative rock

If my clients knew how much thinking about them I did in the shower while getting ready for the day (not in a creepy way, in a "I do my best thinking in the shower" sort of way) they'd probably (hopefully) laugh.

Ya gotta love all the Black dancers being in red, white, and blue like an American flag while he sings, "Sit down, be humble," with Trump in the audience.

I got smacked in the face by an American flag on someone’s porch walking down the street today and if that ain’t a metaphor…

Lessons in why you wait to open your packages until you get indoors:
I am part of an awards committee for a professional sexuality organization.

I ripped open the package and two books about human sexual anatomy fell on the porch in front of the garbage collectors.

Ewwwwps.

I watched Jason Reitman's movie, Saturday Night Live, last night. Really liked the "dreamers dreaming a dream together and making it real" aspect of it, but, um, its hard to believe Lorne Michaels was ever a a kid with stars in his eyes and not a bit of a tyrant.

This is my favorite picture of Stonewall.

They knew they were getting arrested just for being LGBTQ+.

Yet... they're still here, standing outside of the boarded up Stonewall Inn, smiling as the world was at a fever pitch of hatred against them.

I think about it a lot in moments like this.

Happy Leaving Los Angeles Day to my beloved friend, Lauren Valone, the trip in which we went from LA to Seattle, where Lauren, and then eventually me, moved.

That trip really solidified our friendship in a myriad of ways.

I love you, friend. Here’s to more fun and less U-Haul driven adventures.

Apparently ICE is out rearing its ugly head. Here are some common and officially sanctioned tactics and ruses that ICE uses to gain entry and manipulate. Stay curious, resist, and don’t let the bastards grind you down:

I know when to go out/Know when to stay in...and tonight I put on my red shoes and dance the blues...Okay, maybe too many Bowie lyrics, but I am excited to go to Manray for the first time AND dance to Bowie.

On one hand, leaving FB for their stance on fact checking is a fine idea. On the other, where will I get my fill of AI generated, absolutely insane arts and crafts projects and trad wives doing every dump recipe they can think of to stay relevant?

The revolution will not be televised, but apparently it will be very, very thirsty.

It is nearing the holidays, which is the time of year I ask the age-old question, "Why did the director cut that scene in the Muppet Christmas Carol, in which the Michael Caine's Scrooge loses his fiance to overwork, thereby explaining the entire reason why he is so cranky?"

Being back in New England is great, but one tiny complaint: why are outlets in old apartments everywhere you don't need them? Why why why is there an outlet 2 inches from the front door? Maddening.

Watched Challengers last night. Whatever sort of sexual energy is in Zendaya needs to be bottled and sold. Holy moly.

A couple of nights ago on the commuter rail I asked one of the attendants where my train was and he said, “Follow me and I’ll show you but you gotta do a twirl.” And we both did a twirl and as promised, he showed me to the train.

I was trying to remember what a slow news day felt like and all I could remember was that day most of social media was talking about the amount of feces found in beards. The good old days.

I suspect that the Department of Government Efficiency will be about as effective as ice pick lobotomies were for "curing" mental illness.
