My name isn't hard to pronounce or even spell but I've had to deal with that during my childhood. My name is only "difficult" because it's Swahili

It's almost the end of #AdoorableThursday, but I had to share these two lovely doors from the Gede ruins in Kenya! This town was occupied between the 12th and 16th centuries CE, and can boast some amazing coral stone architecture that is still visible today.

Great Zimbabwe was the capital of the Kingdom of Great Zimbabwe from about 11th century until the 15th century, and it was abandoned in the 17th century. It was about 3 sq miles long and housed about 10,000 people inside it's walls. They had trade links to Persian and China via the Swahili Coast.

“Nakupenda is one of the most beautiful ways to say "I love you” in Swahili.
You can emphasize the word by adding "sana sana” at the end. “Sana" means "a lot."
So saying "Nakupenda sana sana" means “I love you very, very much."
