I just watched this(stupid algorithm!) And it was worse than I thought it would be. If this were a paper submitted to me to grade.. it would fail for lack of historical accuracy. Avoid this video and visit the biography page here to learn more about Bonhoeffer:

Sunday Bonhoeffer:
"The first service that one owes to others in the fellowship consists of listening to them. Just as love of God begins with listening to his word, so the beginning of love for the brethren is learning to listen to them."

I guess Tucker Carlson said something stupid about Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Ted Cruz chimed in soon followed by Metaxas...

Yeah.. I've had a good week, so I'm just going to ignore them and go to bed happy.

I gave a short paper today at a mini pop-up conference held by an online group I belong to. It was well received, and I got some great feedback. Now I guess I should finish it formally and try to get it published.

I HAVE FINALLY FOUND MY SPORT!!!
When 60 Minutes first heard about chess boxing, we thought it was a joke. It is not. Competitors alternate rounds of chess and boxing, and can win by knockout or by checkmate, whichever happens first. This Sunday, travel with us to the World Chess Boxing Championships.

New Radicals release “You Get What You Give” 27 years ago today — an “exuberant anthem about commodification, urging that kids who have ‘the dreamers’ disease’ have the power to change things,” The Guardian wrote.

Canadian researchers, *read this thread*.
As Andrea notes, "The data will include information that researchers provided with the understanding that it would remain confidential. This includes demographic information on the applicants as well as peer review comments on applications."
🧵The Canadian House of Commons Standing Committee on Science and Research has put forward a motion to release ALL data in relation to federal research funding applications.

This motion was put forward by conservative MPs who are skeptical of funding being allocated "fairly."

Devastated to hear of Tim Cook's passing today.

Dr. Cook inspired so many young historians in our field. He was always incredibly kind, generous with his time, and the biggest cheerleader for those working in history. He will be greatly missed by so many.

Over the last few weeks, I have been very grateful for my brain. It allows me to do all kinds of neat things that are both new to me and stuff I have always enjoyed. There was a slight disruption in this relationship a few years ago, but today, all is good. Now off to play some chess and then piano!

Brain aneurysms don't care who you are. If you have a family history of aneurysms and/or high blood pressure, talk to your family doctor and get scanned.
