A meme from 2020 that's stuck with me was about how the Imperium of Man (a multiplanetary spacefaring empire) does 1000 human sacrifices a day, and that was meant to demonstrate its immense cruelty, but we were losing more people to covid daily in the US alone, effectively sacrificing them to Mammon

107. There should be a new anthology of Star Wars short stories like Tales from the Cantina or From a Certain Point of View every year. Tales from Jabba’s Palace is arguably more responsible for making me a Star Wars Guy than the movies.

29. The Thrawn trilogy is not anywhere close to as good as you remember. But it did come at a time where there was nothing else really going on in Star Wars, and opened up the possibilities of what a Star Wars story could be.
