Dad always lifts his tubers and stores them over winter, then takes cuttings before replanting them, as he moves them - there's a few in the borders but mostly they get a couple of rows in between rows of veg. In between leeks this year...

My week is not quite the same...

I have read a few books from the TBR mountain recently, so rewarded myself... By buying more books of course! Buying books and reading books are two separate hobbies, remember 😁

A fine evening with Nicola Sturgeon, funny and introspective and lots of great moments which sparked applause. I am, inevitably, waiting for the paperback (by the time it comes out I might have time to read it!), but it's going to be worth a read. As is the possible political thriller novel 😂

Pre-ordered. Arrived. Inhaled.
Out. Stand. Ing. Bravo to @valmcdermid.bsky.social for finding the perfect team of people to bring KP to the screen - I really hope there's going to be series 3, 4, 5...!

I'm in twitter jail, for this violent comment in response to a @ianrankin1.bsky.social tweet about not wanting to read his wife's comments on his latest manuscript... Sigh...

Day off yesterday. Read two books for A Thing and started a third. Made minestrone soup (everything from the garden except the celery!) and turned a handful of tiny onions and a panful of beetroot into pickles. Books and growing veggies and cooking iz me.

I've not seen turnout figures but I suspect they'll be terrible. Meanwhile in Northumberland, the picture is wildly depressing: longstanding Tories plus R political novices doesn't fill me with confidence.

Nice... Cherry blossom from a park further south and west for me today:

Had some good news today (that I can't talk about yet, sorry!) so I'm having a wee treat. Just the one tho, got to be careful not to go crazy 😁

I don't think there's anything about it could surprise me now, but while inventing a book is creepy, this from the current Private Eye is downright dangerous 👇

From a pile of bits to fully functional! Historical, thriller and spy novels (plus crime-adjacent non-fic) all happily breathing out. Contents of the two three-shelfers just to the right now to be pruned to fit one and then on to bookcase roulette round 2 ... #books #BookSky📚💙
