TASC’s new legal challenge against Sizewell C’s secret flood defences
Together Against Sizewell C (TASC) is a community-based group of like-minded individuals who have been actively campaigning on a voluntary basis, since 2013, to stop the Sizewell C project.

#Labour ministers need to meet locals & walk the vulnerable fast retreating coastline from Thorpeness to the Sizewell C site to understand the immoral environmental & financial burden they are placing on future generations to keep the plant & its 4,000 tonnes of spent fuel safe till the late 2100s

Sadly this #Labour govt has championed the destruction of vast swathes of East Suffolk's #AONB & "The coastline of Suffolk- often thought of the best in the country" for Sizewell C.

The thing we don’t hear, have never heard and you won’t read today is what the energy will cost - I’m not sure the government or industry knows. If it does, it doesn’t want to say. That’s an informational black hole at the heart of all the SMR hot air.

We hear a lot about these new mini nukes - Small Modular Reactors - their official name. Fast to deploy we hear, if you call ten years fast. Lots of jobs we hear, but at £3bn for 3k jobs it works out to £1m per job - is that value for money…? (Forty years of average UK pay per job).

#RachelReeves likely to raise income tax yet finds £bns of public funds to spaff on dirty/costly/slow to deploy #nuclear requiring overseas uranium, & means fossil fuels burn for longer!

Totally agree. Also, @RachelReevesMP has risked £14bn+ of public funds on Sizewell C - the same flawed EDF EPR design as Hinkley Point C, choosing to prop up the ailing French nuclear industry & big business over 'working people' & the rest of the UK population!

Something that is never factored into the published cost of nuclear energy, a near century long clean up. We pay for this. Current bill, £120 billion and climbing. Sizewell C will be just more of the same. Expensive power and a toxic legacy for thousands of years.
