Given that the government's own analysis shows environmental protection doesn't impede housebuilding, kindly explain how trashing wildlife and habitats will take us any closer to getting the homes we need?

Important, vital critique of the new Nature Recovery Fund.

I know this stuff is technical and difficult but PLEASE gen up on it because it is coming and you WILL be affected. If it's not the green areas near you, then it'll be the huge economic impacts of biodiversity loss.
Impact assessment of the Nature Recovery Fund is now out (link in article below). It essentially says that it will save housebuilders approx. £0.5bn (largely in capital costs) and will be beneficial to nature. However, it's based on very thin analysis. A 🧵

And where is the fucking BBC on this?
Not a word.
The ‘impartial’ BBC has made it clear that in its opinion, BBC audiences should view human rights protests - in a democracy - as being ‘loathed’.

The BBC would not dare say that about far right violent fascist protest groups though, would it?

Turning away from net zero isn’t ‘dealing with the reality'...it’s ignoring the greatest long-term threat to a safe, stable future.

We need leadership committed to cutting emissions, restoring degraded ecosystems, and protecting the future we leave for generations to come. 📣

Nature-friendly farming is key to tackling the nature and climate crises, ensuring long-term food security.

We agree with our friends @rspb.bsky.social our farmers need certainty, not funding that’s switched on and off.
UK Government has halted SFI applications, cutting off support for nature-friendly farming in England. ❌🍃

Farmers need certainty, not funding that’s switched on & off.

Pulling the rug from under them erodes trust, disrupts farming, and stalls critical progress on nature & climate.
