It's weirdly difficult to remember that Trump's popular vote margin was /less/ than Hillary's in 2016. Biden got more votes in 2020 than Trump got in 2024 and Trump surrogates all under-performed in congressional races.

This is not a mandate, I don't get why it is being portrayed that way.

I’m finding so much joy in my low-buy year… using up things I have, treating my items and spaces with more care, finding buried treasure in my closet and basement. Most importantly, giving up the weird quest for “perfection” that is fueled by a barrage of social media content & ads.

My goal this year is to read at least 2 books a month. These were my January reads.

Today's horrors: Trans Americans can't get passports, the NIH is at a standstill - halting progress on important medical research, and a constitutional amendment has been introduced to allow Trump to be President for a third term. Eggs are still expensive.

Richest man in the world did a certain salute twice today. Yes, that salute.

I genuinely don’t know what you’re supposed to do, as an average person with a conscience, in this timeline.

Remember:

It can be sad. It can be tragic. It can be disgusting and depressing and discouraging.

But it doesn’t have to mean this is who we are now. It’s what our country is doing right now and that’s not the same as who we are.

Who we are isn’t up to him.

I feel like I’ve suffered a lifetime of jokes about “mature” women & saggy boobs, but somehow I entered my 40’s with almost no warning about chin hairs.
