Spent the weekend saying things I meant and Tuesday trying to soften the shape they left. My boss hovered. Legal lurked. And as I stared at an apology never meant to be sent, I couldn’t help but wonder—in a culture desperate for authenticity, why does keeping it real feel like an act of resistance?

climate change is extending “kitten season”—the rescue my husband works for hasn’t gone two weeks without kittens in years. the problem isn’t this bad everywhere, but with cats are mating through winter, spring/summer explodes with little winkles.
