SARS-CoV-2
@sars2.bsky.social
Reformed demon; accidentally unalived millions and ruined countless other lives by taking the form of a deadly and disabling virus. My ass is NOT mild.

Y'all are dying to make me go viral, aren't you? Please stop - wear a doggone mask, will ya?
Now that I've learned to love humans, the guilt I feel is inexpressible. Think about the guilt you would feel if you gave someone an illness that killed them.

Now multiply that by millions.

I truly wish all public health agencies would pay attention to

When I tell you I'm truly bad, I have a lot of evidence on my side. Sample a random few of the nearly half-a-million studies on me, and see if you can find any that say I'm "mild".

Most of you should care a lot more about me than you do - but only the smart ones will start learning more & #MaskUp

Us virii gotsta stick together - and hey, #H5N1, maybe we should do just that!? Meet up in some human hosts, and collaborate on going viral as a team, kinda like #lichens...

That might just get the COVID minimizers to pay attention to me again - maybe even admit #MasksWork & #BetterMasksWorkBetter
The complete abandonment of the idea of taking basic public health precautions around Covid does not fill me with optimism for how we will handle the next problems, H5N1 included.
Disabled & Covid cautious people have been sounding alarm bells about H5N1 for months. We are desperately trying to warn others to pay attention - but no one is listening.

The first severe human case was announced today in Louisiana.

Where are we headed & why don’t people care? 🧵

This Random Chick gets it - the underinformed masses think their opinions (based only on other opinions, not facts) are more accurate than the folks who've put in the effort to learn how masks work, and why they're needed (I can damage any parts of the body, and even persist! I am the worst.)

Gotta hand it to the maga - they spread me real good!

I hate being spread - which is why I hang out here on the internet where my kind of virus can't spread.

And I want to convince even the maga to avoid me. If maga can communicate without being jerks, welcome them here - and change their minds
Will they begin to eat each other? Or will they look for Bluer Skies?

All of us viruses are so jealous of @polio.bsky.social...

Hard to imagine anything worse than being condemned to life in an iron lung simply because the people around you didn't care enough to take the minute risk of a vaccine, instead of infecting you with the actual virus.

Well played, Demon!

FOOD always tastes better with E. coli, salmonella, norovirus, etc., because you could be eating your final meal!

Properly season the AIR you breathe *while* you eat with a spicy virus or three - we love company!

/s

Let the #CultOfMaga breathe unfiltered air; avoid me, #BlueCrew: #MaskUp!
Do the sweet potato fries taste better when seasoned with RSV, covid, or streptococcus pneumoniae? Surprise me!

Can confirm. If there's enough of me in your mucus to turn even faintly pink, you are exhaling some of me every time you breathe.

Not only that, but you can be contagious even before you test positive - I am that good at virusing!

So mask around others, even when you don't *yet* know I'm in you.

Dr Tran knows what's up - many of us viruses are airborne, which means masks work great to protect against us. Lots of people don't realize that viruses are spread just by breathing - filter the air you breathe in (and out!), and you and those around you will be less sick.

#SmartHumansWearN95s
Reminder: High quality masks/respirators such as N95s protect against all airborne viruses including bird flu.

@corsiaq.bsky.social came up with a terrific idea to help avoid spreading me - high flow rate means mult-pass filtration for results that are better than HEPA *and* cheaper!

I love how much he hates spreading me!
Also make an $80 Corsi-Rosenthal filter for home! UCONN and EPA lab tested and they work better! They have 5x the filter area! Use Electrostatic MERV13 filters to add the positive charge that kills viruses and bacterias! www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/...

Good call, Molly!

Folks, the wild thing is that #N95-ish masks (and even those lame leaky blue medical ones) help protect not only against me, but against all airborne infections (and there are many more of those than humans used to know about).
December 19, 2024 at 6:08 AM
Once y'all figure out how bad I really am, you'll gladly pay big bucks to get masks that work as well as #N95 respirators.

So stock up now and avoid the tariffs the dunce-in-chief conned the maga into wanting.

I love watching reruns of #TheLoveBoat - because even a fake TV doctor like Dr. Adam Bricker would have stocked #N95 masks in case a respiratory illness broke out.
“I've been essentially house-bound for three months, bed-bound during my crashes,” she says. “For the past two months, I haven't even been able to walk my dog. I have POTS, fatigue, post-exertional malaise, and MCAS. The PEM is the worst."
In August a ship with 100 writers & artists set sail for the Arctic. People started falling sick, but organisers encouraged them to keep socialising. The ship's doctor had no Covid tests, no masks. More than 50 got Covid. Some now have debilitating Long Covid. www.donotpanic.news/p/the-arctic...

Here are some reasons you should try hard not to spread me:
Repeated COVID reinfections can have serious long-term consequences for your body. From neurological issues like brain fog to cardiovascular strain, lung damage, and immune system complications, each reinfection increases the risk of lasting harm.
