Most Georgia voters living in a municipality also have local elections, which are usually nonpartisan. Atlanta residents, which includes me, get to vote on mayor and city council president, board of education, and a handful of judicial retention elections.

So if I use this in GA to go to the polls, does that make it illegal? 🙄

I’m old enough to remember when the Hatch Act was a thing. How quaint.

An example of the depths of petty to which I have reached. Next board meeting is at the end of the month.

Very few people have influenced the person I have grown into as an adult as much as Jimmy Carter did. I first started working at The Carter Center as an intern in 1992, and spent many years in and out of the Center as my life took me away and back again, over the course of decades.

Yesterday, Georgia's Supreme Court refused to stay the district court ruling that declared a swath of new rules passed by the Georgia State Election Board unlawful and unconstitutional. Any appeal will follow the normal path and the normal calendar.

That means we have certainty and clarity.

My 18yo daughter and I voted this week at the High Museum early voting location in midtown Atlanta.
It was busy, but there were no lines at 5:45 in the afternoon and incredibly well organized. Perhaps the easiest voting experience I have had in GA.

Go vote, y’all!

Happy 100th birthday to an extraordinary human, humanitarian, and former boss, former President Jimmy Carter. Everything I do today to protect democracy is a testament to him and his leadership.

Timing is terrible, but am I wrong to be excited about the prospect of being on a federal jury?! 🙏🙏

Guess who made her husband drive her from the surgeon to Ponce library on the last day of early voting in the runoff election for school board elections? I might not be driving myself yet, but I’ll still find a way to vote.

Runoff election is Tuesday, December 5!

Voting on Halloween wasn’t scary-except for how few people were there casting a ballot!

Had a great experience at Ponce Library voting for my school board reps. Fulton County poll workers were efficient and lovely.

Three more days of early voting left-if you haven’t done so yet, go vote!
