I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Aphasia really sucks. Words used to come so easily to me, and now I struggle to speak. But like millions of Americans living with aphasia, I haven’t lost my voice.

This morning, I’ve seen a lot of videos from the massive No Kings demonstrations. But this one brought tears to my eyes.

They’ve lived through wars and crises. They’ve seen it all - and they’re ready to fight.

Justice and dignity don’t retire - and democracy belongs to the people, not to one man.

SEN. PADILLA: “Saying I lunged is a lie, but that’s par for the course for this administration… I was behind the cameras listening, and at a certain point hearing Noem say they had to rescue LA from the Governor and Mayor was too much to take. So I raise my voice to ask a question.”

Now is not the time to be silent.

The video footage of @padilla.senate.gov being forcibly removed and handcuffed is disturbing and unacceptable.

What we’ve seen today continues the dangerous trend of this administration intimidating anyone who stands up and disagrees with them.

The disparity btwn what’s actually happening in Los Angeles and the way it’s being mischaracterized is one of the biggest stress tests of modern media in recent memory. Botted socials, AI, old clips, declining literacy—it’s like seeing a broken emergency response system hit by a storm.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said Los Angeles is proof of how migration “unravels” a society.

But in California, violent crime is down, and the unemployment rate is close to the national average, according to federal and state data.
Fact-checking Trump and Miller’s claims of a ‘migrant invasion’ in California
Federal and state data tell a far different story about migration to California than the political fury unfolding in Washington and on the streets of Los Angeles.

The people complaining that immigrants need to seek citizenship "the right way" get very quiet when ICE kidnaps those same people on their way to immigration hearings.

work longer days,

But hey, at least we're not stuck with socialized health care.
