And it's not just the research arm. We already know how socioeconomics, race, and school funding correlate with academic achievement and educational outcomes in the United States, so that isn't a grand mystery. This administration's agenda is actively exacerbate all of those correlations!

It's truly worth evaluating the cost of displacing other disciplinary perspectives from education discourse and policymaking. How did cognitive science come to dominate "The Science of Learning" at the expense of developmental science, anthropology, systems theory, or linguistics?
“Is this practice aligned with healthy child development?”, as @tinafarr.bsky.social asks, is a question that would improve school experiences and outcomes for kids exponentially more than most questions we ask about "what works" to teach content.
