Sometimes I do stuff, sometimes I bleed from the eyes. You never know.
Thank you.

I haven't heard about my sister yet, but she's Amish, and my family's Jewish, so I don't expect to hear anything until tomorrow.

I called my Uncle though, and he was out of the hospital already, so that was a bit of a relief. He has Parkinson's though, so I'm always worried about him.

I think it's quite obvious that Russia's currently doing that.

Last night he told me he heard from his sister that his older brother was headed to a different hospital. I am also checking on my uncle for him because he didn't call before his weekend ER shifts. I am 2,700 miles away.

I ask him if he knows anything, to which he says no, but she looked fine, and I should just call the hospital to speak to her. Without knowing a room. At the hospital he's currently working in. My sister is Amish, so I've been calling every community phone I know.

I'd take a train from the west coast to help you.

Are you going to do the necessary work to dismantle systemic racism? Because if you want all those things, that comes first. Yelling at a Black man we failed to vote in enough power to do those things is not the first step.

Right? The universe provides. My Dad is very good at raising at taking care of things, but this was his first baby kitten, and he's just so sweet with her.

She is. And I'm so glad she and my Dad found each other. He usually just has a new cat show up at his house about 2 weeks after his cats pass (he's in the country), but it took a whole year for this one to find him, and the LOVE each other.

Truth. I live in Portland. We have between 70% to 80% voter turnout in general elections (embarrassing turnout out for special elections though), and our government and city officials have had our backs against the current fascist assaults. You wanna keep the republic? Vote.

Leopoldstadt sits next to me as I see this. May we see every exit as an entrance.

I generally believe this as well. I mean, my Irish Catholic Grandmother married my Hungarian Jewish Grandfather, so I know at least those Irish people are generally good people, and all my time in Ireland has been my favorite, but the antisemitism, especially since 10/7 is...well, horrifying.

I'm half Jewish, and half Irish, and I can't deal with their bullshit anymore. It's so frustratingly grotesque.

It's the loud, aggressive, evangelical ones that give that perception, honestly. I've been veg most of my life, but I find most who loudly declare themselves vegan annoying even though I prefer the food. I like to make my tofurkey, and watch everyone choose it over meat every holiday. Veggies are life.

No, you're a hate-mongering monster. That's what your words and actions really say.
