Carney handled this beautifully. Trump, as ever, even on best behavior, was a profound embarrassment to the US.
Carney to Trump: "There are some places that are never for sale ... having met with the owners of Canada over the course of the campaign, it's not for sale. It won't be for sale ever."

This!!!
I think when a profession flames out as badly as US journalism has (with a few exceptions), some members will offer excuses in order to retain club membership. "These innocent lambs don't have the words to comprehend or report reality." So much for that proud boast of speaking truth to power.

Wow!
I have never heard of this kind and level of carelessness by top intelligence officials.
Have to wonder how many more instances this has occurred and with whom.

Bunch of amateurs.

This is our emergency pod following today's meeting. You don't want to miss it. One conclusion: Ukraine will continue to do well without the U.S. Another: Trump is now 100% on Team Putin. Another: Five Eyes intel partnership is doomed. Another: Big challenges ahead for DoD & Intel professionals.
Trump/Zelensky meeting was a disaster. The betrayal of Ukraine is confirmed. Doug Lute, @rosabrooks.bsky.social, and @mpolymer1.bsky.social join @djrothkopf.bsky.social on Deep State Radio to break down this train wreck of a meeting.

THIS ⬇️⬇️⬇️ by @djrothkopf.bsky.social should be the headline today, not some horserace BS that we're getting from our elite media.
Trump thinks he humiliated Zelensky. He humiliated the United States of America. And he made the world a much more dangerous place. Mob boss foreign policy will not work. The Trump-Putin axis fully came out of the closet today.

This paradox is the single most important reason why the Democrats must develop and maintain their own media apparatus. If they do not, no one will ever know what good they have done. It will all get buried. See Biden's record for proof. @matthew.flux.community
The news media sucks and is structurally slanted against Democrats & the corporate media are assholes who are already cowering before Trump

Also, why am I not seeing Democrats fighting back? Obviously if Democrats were doing something I’d be seeing it on the news!

Interesting timing.
BREAKING: Roy Austin, Meta’s Vice President of Civil Rights and Deputy General Counsel, just announced his resignation and posted a note on LinkedIn.

Roy is a former Obama DOJ colleague; although his announcement note is very civil the timing doesn’t seem coincidental.

This. A thousand times.
The only thing that unites the GOP today is being Donald Trump's sycophants. Now it has spread to the billionaire class, legacy media and large corporations. They are throwing money at Trump.

It is up to us to build and lead a new opposition movement.

The written analysis attached to this post includes great recommendations for Democrats and the DNC. I particularly like that the DNC should start treating party members as partners and information warriors rather than ATMs and to have the DNC be a central communications hub similar to KamalaHQ.

It is likely that a primary driver of Elon's support of Trump was the growing likelihood his US govt contracts could be jeopardized due to his fraudulent immigration application and repeated, unreported contacts with hostile foreign powers. He needed Trump/USG to look the other way.
Elon Musk and his company SpaceX failed to comply with federal reporting protocols aimed at protecting state secrets, including by not providing some details of his meetings with foreign leaders, people familiar with the matter said. nyti.ms/4iG0ojK
