Currently Trump is working hard to achieve a "peace deal" between Russia and Ukraine.
All in order to be able to boast as a peace maker within his first 100 days
To achieve the deal Ukraine needs essentially to surrender.
That would be terribly wrong since it's Russia who is in deep shit.
