Also, let's face it: Reform *would* be worse, but only so far as they think they'll get away with. The worse Labour is now, the worse Reform will be in a hypothetical future Farage government.
If Labour are out here doing neo-Nazi wet-dream stuff today that just makes everyone accept that as normal.

If, like me, this utter betrayal by Labour is making your blood boil, can I ask you let them know your feelings here www.gov.uk/government/c...
Earned settlement
The government is consulting on how the current settlement system should be reformed and how those reforms should be implemented.

Here's an off-the-wall, radical idea: maybe if so many people think state schools aren't good enough for their kids we could - I don't know - try and make state schools better? For everyone's kids? Just a thought.

On one hand: yes, absolutely!

On the other, I can't help but suspect that the greatest percentage of people on 100+k/pa getting this particular means-tested benefit taken away because they earn too much firmly believe poor people should have benefits taken away when they earn too much.

"If you don't like Labour policies you'll get Reform" lost its power half a year or more ago, now they're trying to make Reform look like a reasonable alternative.

Just waiting for them to denouce Polanski as a "woke elite intellectual Remoaner traitor" and the metamorphosis will be complete.

2027 headlines:
"WESTMINSTER: Farage criticises Home Secretary Peter Mandelson for ruling out the rumoured policy to collect all foreigners in 'death camps'. 'This just proves that Labour will never put Britons ahead of performative woke identity politics', stated the Reform leader."

Indeed, and whether Polanski's Greens eclipse them and take their seats or push Labour to the left, Reform-style, I'm more positive about them than anyone right now.

But one correction: we're still in the Brexit Years.

You have to wonder what kind of traumatic brain injury one would have to receive to *not* have it in for him, frankly.

I clearly remember Blair coming in. He did some unpopular stuff and some evil stuff but still, his government was also the first of my life where central government actually made things better for ordinary people.

These fuckwits have doubled down on the unpopular and evil and done none of the good.
