Enjoying the process of using pencil and pen to get a basic idea down, then digitising it to allow opportunities to change the design in little ways - simple background change here, but possibility to, say, change it to a Brazil shirt or whatever opens up fun possibilities.

Do we or do we not live in a country where these awful people got their way at almost every major decision point of the century so far? We do! Is it good? No, it is a national calamity. Are they sorry? No they’re not, they’re *absolutely furious* that they haven’t got more and worse.

This is more or less how I see it - any 'help' would be of more use now, while Small Human is still school age, than it will be when I'm early 50s or older

Yes there are ways and means around it (aren't there always?); I suppose some of comes down to whether you want the extra admin burden etc. etc.

Could be. Obviously there are thresholds and exemptions to these things as well (making the original story a bit of an edge case in itself).

"Tax doesn't have to be taxing" was the slogan when I was younger - yeah right 😆

Another reason I find it odd that it's 'pay tax first then sell' rather than 'sell then pay tax based on that'

I've always found it incredibly odd that it is 'pay tax then sell' rather than the other way around.

New York mayoral race a good example of this.

A decent chunk of people probably feel like they went for the sensible vote last time out, and that may be true (objectively or otherwise) but it sure as shit doesn’t feel like the sensible vote right now - and so the appeal of alternatives grows and grows.
