I mean, shiiiiit. I was a trans kid 67 years ago (or so), when first I expressed it in a trans kid sort of way. I have memories, and I ain't dead yet. I know people who think trans people didn't exist before 2010. They often also think the earth is both flat and 6,000 years old.

i love it when ppl say trans kids didn’t exist 5 years ago after having spent years fearmongering about ‘mermaids’ — a charity for trans kids founded 30 years ago.
Just because you didn't know something was happening, doesn't mean it wasn't happening.
Yes. I get so angry when colleagues say “There never used to be trans kids in my classes!” when they should say “The trans kids in my classes used to be closeted and miserable and now are out and empowered!” Such a fundamental failure to understand.
