I just want to make it clear that making jokes in times of great stress doesn’t mean that you take things less seriously. Some of us have simply learned not to let circumstances steal more of our joy than necessary. Times are hard and I’ll be damned if anyone’s going to take my laugh too.

I've been trying to understand why I feel the particular flavor of distressed that I do right now. I think it's because we can no longer discuss the lessons we should be learning from any kind of disaster without the worst chucklefucks coming out of the woodwork to wreck everything.
