Because they're terrified of accusations they're betraying Brexit. It's the same in so many areas. They're hiding their successes and yelling about their weaknesses.
It is remarkable how little effort Starmer has put into making the case for his renegotiation. No “Bloomberg” speech, no policy papers. An interview three days before deal day is the first outing of substance. If his pro-EU coalition gives him no credit for it, it’s because hes asked for none.

Anyone who thinks you can solve London's housing crisis, the product of several decades of not building enough houses, without building more houses, does not deserve to be taken seriously. Nor does anyone tagging the NIMBY ultras of CPRE into a discussion on housing.

Political thing you might not notice if you don’t have small kids: Every nursery right now sending out massive fee increases for April and blaming the government’s NI increase, causing parents WhatsApp groups to light up with people demanding the government opt nurseries out of the tax rise.

We're being asked to believe that, after the economy goes into recession next year, after whatever happens in the Trump presidency, after the government spends billions upon billions more on health and infrastructure, after whatever happens with Russia the polls will...be the same as they are now?

This has genuinely annoyed me, because her explanation is reasonable, the conviction is spent, she clearly got stitched up, and yet she is still expected to (effectively) never work again because we are a country of curtain twitching loons.
