This is terribly sad and shocking news. Val only became a councillor in 2022 but was the definition of a Labour and Unison stalwart for many decades prior, much of it in my old stomping ground of Edinburgh South / Southern. A genuine loss to the city. My condolences to all who knew and loved her.
