Product designer living and working in Vienna. Kicked PDF SDK UI standards up a notch, improved regulated software development tools, helped friends create Audio Plugins and Synths and drew hundreds and hundreds of icons in the process.
I would actually love to hear the explanation of how "Fuck leadership, be a leader yourself!" is not vague, fortune cookie-levels of depth answer to "Any idea on how to convince leadership that bug number metrics are useless." but I blocked the person because… 😬 well:

Dear lord, this is exactly why "digitalization" is such a drag in nominally modern countries. Never mind that no sane Risk Assessment for the service would find "No cell service, no message" acceptable.

And the same reason (balkanization of implementation) is why Europe will always be slow.

He’s not coming on a plane. That little water won’t stop him from using his preferred method of transportation.

What was the total number of people on board?

My Belavia flight to Belarus in 2021 had, if I remember correctly, a total of 12 people on board. Felt even more exclusive than flying with Tyrolean Jet Services.

Was offered extra tuna sandwiches, too. So I know how rich people feel, since 2021. 😊

"You will like AI whether you like it or not!" is the tech motto of 2025.

The whole AI Revolution™ Sunk Cost Fallacy would be much funnier if we didn’t depend on only 3 tech giants and they were the ones shitting their pants on it.

(And of course it’s a Meta sociopath that took that effort over.)

5) The one thing that I don’t have enough insight (talk didn’t dive deep into the topic) to authoritatively criticize, but am happy to throw in my 2 cents about: The icons are a bit "mushy" and unclear.

What do I mean by that?

4) The team actually went through the ISO and other standards and distilled those into a easy to use checklist (Checklist Manifesto represent, yo!). This gave me a chuckle, considering my last employer (regulated dev tools) no-time-for-that-ed my suggestion to create more of them for our workflows.

3) The system makes use of border styles, something you will rarely see in a hip startup web app.

What’s the point of using border styles/pattern backgrounds/etc?

Easy: A user that is unable to differentiate colors can still recognize the difference between a straight and a dashed line.

1) The colors used are calm and communicate confidence. A far cry from the aggressive reds prevalent in Vienna’s hodgepodge of IT systems and services, for example. This already makes the whole system result in software UIs that feel less confrontational — which helps adoption!
