I've been using a handmedown table for a desk since graduate school. I've long wanted to move on from that so I designed and built myself a new grownup desk in cherry. I finished it today after working on it in fits and starts as time allowed. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Grades turned in earlier this week so I had some time to get back to work on my desk project. Here are all the parts for the desk milled and cut to size. The drawer parts are in the back and the desktop is out of frame. I hope to finish the desk, or get pretty close, by start of spring term.

So I baked some of the Washington Post's Olympic chocolate muffins.. It is like a muffin recipe Mad Lib where you just write chocolate for every blank line and then add 3 more chocolate. I mean that in a good way. wapo.st/3SFe579
