My layoff from the nonprofit I've worked at for 5 years is effective today. My health insurance ends tomorrow. I can't afford COBRA longer than a few months. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, it's very scary.

I am so deeply ashamed of the human race, particularly the ones who think it’s funny to pick on the vulnerable.

In Brazil, a seniors' center was gifted mobility bikes for its residents.

Now they’re cruising, smiling, and feeling young again.

Reminder that instead of attending Donald Trump's first address to Congress tonight I'll be hosting an open-to-all town hall on Facebook live at 6 PM PT. You don't need a Facebook account – or to be an Oregonian – to tune in. Look forward to seeing you all soon.

Posts on X saying there is no autism or chronic illness in the Amish community 🫠. I live near a large Amish community in MO. I worked in early childhood intervention for yrs. I assure you Autism & other developmental issues exist in these communities. I've had several Amish families on my caseload.
No, Amish kids aren’t immune to cancer, diabetes and autism — and they aren’t vaccine-free, either
Social media users are pointing to Amish communities as proof that vaccinations not only don’t work, but are harmful to our health.

How are people talking to their teenagers about the potential future we're facing? My 17 & 19 yo say I'm scaring them. Obviously no one knows what's going to happen, but very smart pundits aren't optimistic. How do we realistically prepare them for a very different future without terrifying them?

I'm an educator & dirt road dem in a 🟥 state. I've never been very active on any SM platform due to privacy & maintaining my livelihood in said type of state. These days I'm feeling different & am attempting to connect. I need to build community.

Not everyone can move. Custody agreements exist.
