and it’s so hot, cause we’re in hell.
It’s fine to be cynical about how the shutdown went but this literally isn’t what happened, the actual vote on the subsidies happened during the BBB. Dems tried to revive the issue but this wasn’t when it was decided. There’s no reason to think any of them secretly are for ending the subsidies

I didn’t think she’d find it boring because she’s a big fan of vibey Studio Ghibli movies where basically nothing happens but there’s plenty of stuff to look at

Naturally we’ll be fast forwarding through some scenes, but a lot of this movie is just “the gang walks through scenery” and she’s digging it

Me either. I did expect Memento to be a lot harder or follow than it was though so maybe these movies are all oversold on complexity grounds

Since this movie came out our screenwriting has evolved to openly assuming nobody watching is paying attention to any specific line of dialogue or scene

If it’s SO obvious they could stumble into it without even planning to (like they did with a lot of the shutdown politics it seems like)

I don’t think accelerationism is *entirely* irrational atp, though I think when we make moves in that direction it’s important Democrats aren’t widely seen as the accelerators (even if they are)

I think some people actually think we were on the verge of much more than this, even, stopping ICE raids, removing RFK, removing Trump from office entirely is one I saw somewhere. Maybe better expectations management would’ve helped but I’m not sure how you do that without reassuring Republicans too

Those onesies are one of the grimmest things I’ve seen lately (and stiff competition there)

I have thus far assumed they wash their hands because they touched their junk (and further, strongly suspect a lot of them don’t even do this) however “i have piss on my hands and i don’t care” is a bold choice from that gentleman
