Recently, for some unknown and errant reason, my husband has begun calling female bartenders "barmaids," as in "Excuse me barmaid, may I have another glass of wine?"
I'm like this is California in 2025, not some English country inn circa 1911 or a rural New Hampshire renaissance fair. Stop it!
