Made some zucchini fritters from the garden 🌱🍽️
- 4 medium zucchinis - 3 teaspoon salt - 2 egg - 1 cup all-purpose flour - 1 teaspoon baking powder - 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese - 3 green onions, thinly sliced - 4 clove garlic, minced - black pepper Mixed together in a bowl Frying those zucchini latkes in a thin layer of canola oil Finished, golden brown zucchini fritters. Added a little msg, garlic powder blend after frying. 8.5/10, would make again.

One of my submissions for the Entomological Society of America's World of Insects 2024 calendar was accepted! This encounter of a eupelmid wasp borrowing a few stink bug eggs from 2021 helped spark my obsession with tiny wasps, understandably. Maybe it'll help do the same for others! 💙

A bunch of these tree tobaccos popped up in my yard, and I found out they’re invasive and highly toxic but I’ve also read that the leaves can be smoked and I’m very tempted, but also I’ve never cured leaves before.

Can any medicinal plant experts weigh in?

A photo of a wasp on top of a cricket and the caption: The Great Golden Digger Wasp seeks out prey — often a grasshopper, cicada or cricket – and then stings and paralyzes it. If the prey is small, she flies it directly to the nest. If prey is too large to transport aerially, the wasp will walk with it across the ground, dragging it by its antennae (see photo). She pulls the prey down into one of the cells. When a cell contains paralyzed prey, the wasp lays an egg on the insect. The egg hatches within two or three days and the wasp larva begins eating the insect. Because the prey is not dead, decomposition is delayed, and the wasp larva’s food is relatively fresh. The developing wasps overwinter in the nest and emerge the following summer to begin the process all over again.
