This is how you have adult converts whose fierce defense of tradcath doctrine is undercut slightly by the fact that their time as a catholic is best measured in months, and how you have people who never actually played Ghost of Tsushima arguing that Ghost of Yotei betrayed the fans of the original.

The phrase "zeal of the convert" applies here, because what's happening is that in adopting a new social group, they feel an intense need to prove themselves to people they see as authorities within that social group by fiercely defending what they see as that group's traditions.

"Warhammer's hardcore fanbase is in revolt over Female Custodes" reads the headline, but then you talk to these people for long enough and they always admit that they've only been playing since 9th or even 10th edition, or in many cases don't even play the game or collect the miniatures.

I legitimately still do not know what cissexual means.

I know this for a fact. I've been playing since the very first exclusive playtests so I can confirm from firsthand knowledge that the two oldest factions in the game are Trench Pilgrims and Heretic Legions. They were the two factions we were given to playtest all those years ago.

I'm honestly so glad to hear that. I can't promise they'll be as long but I think something like a dedicated addendum video is definitely something I could do. It makes me very happy that it seems like my Trench Crusade videos have brought a lot of players to the game.

Yeah it feels like they tried to make the faction easier for new players in a way that just... made them less interesting to play if you're someone like me who has already gotten over their steeper learning curve.

The fireteam special rule now says that models in a fireteam *are* activated simultaneously, rather than *can be* activated simultaneously. Also fireteams are now declared during warband creation and cannot be changed between games rather than before the game begins.

The faction's gameplay identity used to be very fragile units that do excellent damage output from 12-18 inches away. Now they're a melee army that focuses on using grenades and assault weapons to shoot and charge. They're no longer a midrange trade army, they play like World Eaters now lmao.

Gameplay-wise. The faction was fundamentally retooled to be more melee oriented and to be less reliant on fireteams for their damage output. Fireteams were made worse, Combat Engineers lost their bonus dice to ranged attacks and got bonus dice to melee attacks instead, grenades were buffed.

it feels inadequate to add a footnote in the description saying "Oh btw fireteams work completely differently now and also a bunch of units had their abilities changed or stat bonuses switched and also Prussia got buffed to hell despite already being more powerful than default Nantioch by a lot."

my New Antioch video is basically completely moot because the faction has been changed so much that it's no longer really recognizable as the faction I made a guide for.

.....Fuck I might have to move to New York now.

We're gonna find out the Bronze Age Collapse Sea Peoples were actually just Indo-Europeans who had discovered seahorses.
