Thing is, the Bond markets don't change anything real in terms of immediate spending or the quality of projects. If we acknowledge them as important, it could at least be on a longer-term basis rather than incessant squawking about meaningless daily fluctuations.

I'm sure that's true. However, they've also been actively briefing through their staff about potential runners to see what the reaction is and gauge feedback. That's also allowed, but it's what fuels the speculation and gossip, & it's not great PR.

What we know is that the Chancellor was modelling over 100 different measures to see the impact and consequences.

Modelling them doesn't mean they were actively considering them. It means they were getting the full picture that any decent Chancellor would do.
