I don't mean to be the "In ancient Rome-" guy, but actually, in ancient Rome, the erosion of standards of behaviour and norms over a century is what destroyed the Republic. Wrote this four years ago in relation to Trump and 6 January (plus Brexit, etc)

A thing I'm still trying to work out how to think about: AI can hugely save time, truncate tasks, improve productivity, be a force for good, provided you don't treat it as a magical 'and now I never need to do any critical thinking again'. Yet so many people do, in fact, do that.
As they grow more and more AI dependent, these people reveal how little they read. See also Bill Ackman, who is constantly demanding “investigations” over stuff that would be solved by reading to the seventh graf. Arrogant, lazy, stupid.
Over on the other site, they're suggesting that the reporters who worked on this, including myself, hid our names. They didn't bother to scroll down to the bottom of the piece where we are listed in full.
Great sleuthing by the do your own research crowd.
