Seems like a pretty normal Scottish summer. Well, maybe more around the 70 mark. We’ve had a ‘heatwave’ of 80 degrees this weekend and now the population is covered in burn lines because outside is cooler than our keep the heat in air con free homes 😂😭

Which I think the game was really good at showing, but the series made her seem like she was younger and a lot less sure of herself - which takes away a lot of the conversations, and makes me think was influenced by the backlash from when the game was first released.

I think given that it's five years later and she's nineteen you're supposed to see her as this mature independant woman (because that's who she thinks she is) making these descisions when really she's a nineteen year old kid who will have to face the consequences in the aftermath.

Though I have to say the Aria/Ezra relationship hits pretty differently (see even worse) when you're thirty-five and not twenty - Okay, wow, I feel old now realising this show started in 2010 and that was fifteen years ago! - and it's just plain creepy that she's sixteen and he's an adult teacher.

Another issue for me being the lack of understanding in what elements were important in the story's structure. Leading them to focus too much on the why and never really showing the what which is how Abby's storyline unravells into more important meanings as we revisit those days in Seattle.

Season Two though never moves Ellie beyond that 'innocent' kid who finds herself in circumstances out of her own control. Season One being handheld by Joel to and out of Boston and Season Two by Dina and Jesse to and out of Seattle.

Part Two is supposed to be how the death and violence surrounding this post apocalyptic world can overwhelm your 'innocent' main charcater into making selfish decisions that are evil even if they can feel justified.

I mean, all I've played for the better part of a year has also been Minecraft and Fallout 4 to the point I'm now on the fence if I want a PS5 or a Steamdeck.

Another reminder that I don’t have a PS5 yet to playthrough the remaster Part 2 😭😂

That can be either the best place or the worst place depending on who you ask. 😅
