Plants like ghost pipe, that have an evolutionary story that is unique and interdependent have always been a huge interest, I wish scientific literature was free I'd have a copy of every new phytologist text out there.
Lucked into some ghost pipe yesterday. This funny little flower is a perennial but unlike most plants doesn’t produce chlorophyll so it can’t photosynthesize. Instead, it gets good through microheterotrophy, using a large network of roots and fungi to take food from surrounding plants.

My favorite clients did wonders filling up the raised veggie beds. Regraded the soil and adding a total of 20 yards to extend it, rebuilding the retaining wall with logs and building 10 large raised beds with 1 yard of compost. A big project with big rewards they've really put them to work.
