A problem I had when I wrote the draft for Yugioh Mysteries was the deck of the main character themselves. The character's archetype tells you all you need to know about them.
I originally wanted to give the MC a Knight based Pendulum Ritual Deck. But it was too complex and didn't fit with the MC

When writing YugiMania I decided to add a 3rd member to the main character's side and initially she was going to be a romantic interest. But then it felt weird so I ended up creating a separate female character. But one that ended up being more useful to me as she will give Yuta a personal quest

What I've done so far is written the character profiles for the main 4 characters.
And I have started fleshing out what their decks do and the cards in them.
I've also started to write the lore book explanaining Paradisio and New Eden.
Finally I've written the outline for Chapter 1

From this concept I kept that the main character would be a private detective instead. Reducing somewhat the "cool factor" of his job.
Bet duels have been scaled down in importance. His bestfriend in the police is still here but I've added a few more to the cast.
The Mafia is around and prominent

The name of the original draft idea was Yugioh Mystery but I felt that was way too generic. YugiMania won't be the permanent name but I do like the idea of not calling it Yugioh *blank* akin to JoJo and JoJoLands

I think I'll use Bluesky to talk about my Yugioh OC series that I've decided to reboot from my scrapped ideas.
I had everything set up but I didn't feel any real depth in the plot so I decided to step back.
3 years later and I found the missing pieces to it and so I'm back at it!
