Releasing 20,000+ pages of Epstein files related documents as .jpgs via a shared google drive owned by oversight.gop.119 is sorta wild, but also sort of exactly where we're at.

Techbros: AI will revolutionise everything
@perplexity00.bsky.social: noooo don't ask me too many questions i can't keep up. I need 1237846845GW power to write your next boolean query.

The best thing about using wired headphones is that you don't need a fucking app to use them.

Just installed @perplexitycomet.bsky.social and the payment related flags are really scary. Why does a browser need BNPL payment options built in?

What is Plex even doing? Why is everything tagged as Pop/Rock? Even Burzum and Cannibal Coprse 😑

When they say economy has gotten really efficient, what they mean is that companies, through the use of algorithms have gotten really good at extracting money from consumers pockets.

You have video games studios hiring A List celebrities increasingly for every damn game, and then we wonder why games cost $100+. Gamers aren't even demanding this shit, premiumisation is being forced down out throats.

AI will be the plastic of the next few decades. The initial hype is massive and it has leeched into every digital space imaginable, from work to personal life to art and media. But in some time people will realise how everything is polluted and the need for a massive cleanup operation.

One of the best things about not having a streaming subscription is that you feel less compelled to stay at home and make the most of the these services, and more willing to go out and do things.

Tech companies, in order to sell AI tools, will on purpose make information difficult to find without the aid of AI tools. I can already see this on LinkedIn where the jobs it recommends me have nothing to do with the keywords I am searching for.

Now that programming and technology has been democrarised thanks to AI, it means we don't need large teams of computer engineers. And that means more FOSS and reduced reliance on tech giants, isn't it?

AI and related infrastructure is expensive. And the pervasive use of AI in everything is a way to premium-ise everything and raise prices and fun AI initiatives. Every company marketing themselves as AI first, will pass on the cost to consumers, just like tariffs. Even when AI is unnecessary.

Watching the latest @veritasium.bsky.social video has definitely made me think more seriously about PFAs, whereas until now I thought it was a less important, extreme & niche eco friendly concern used by brands & influencers.

I find using terms like b-word or n-word or r-word is so annoyingly pointless. Everyone knows what they stand for, when someone is saying these terms, everyone hearing is interpreting the same offensive word. What have you solved for by using the modified word? It's just performative

We don't talk about this enough, but 100% sure there are ad agencies working for your favourite fascist, be it Trump or Modi, and especially so for the oligarchs like Elon, Adani, Gates, Tata, etc. Consultants and Ad Agencies are the real enables of societal collapse.

Why does Severance feel like The Good Place? And they both feel like the video game Hades. Is this the rogue-like genre trickling down to film and TV?

CMV: Advertising is just another type of misinformation and works using the same mechanisms. (paid media, targets emotional response, works by repetitive reinforcement, is often vague/unclear)

Imagine if someonody monetises your personal diary/daily journal for ads.
That's basically the business model of AI based assistants like ChatGPT, Copilot and Gemini.
