Someone recently said Roko's Basilisk is basically Pascal's Wager for tech bros. And that sounds increasingly true.

America would be better off fixing it's own domestic issues right now than looking at what the poor Chinese fishermen are doing.

I am sure Ranveer Brar would have a recipe for you to use it in too. It's a very aromatic spice.

Both things can be true. Social Media as they exist today are highly addictive and harmful spaces for everyone not just kids and we need to do our best to safeguard children. That doesn't mean Twitter isn't worse and more toxic than some other platforms.

How in the hell did my Plex server manage to download the new Alter Bridge album the day it was released? Who are these madmen buying, ripping and torrenting the CD the day of the release?

This is how.

You know what would get me to pay for Lastfm subscription? Closer integration with Lidarr & Plex. Making it easier to discover new artists and adding them would definitely make it worth it

Releasing 20,000+ pages of Epstein files related documents as .jpgs via a shared google drive owned by oversight.gop.119 is sorta wild, but also sort of exactly where we're at.

Almost all social listening tools now provide data from BlueSky and these tools use AI to summarise the data. Not sure if BlueSky data is used for training through these social listening platforms, but it is definitely sold to them via APIs.

The best thing about using wired headphones is that you don't need a fucking app to use them.

AI is just sweet talk for extracting as much money from consumers as possible. Is amount extraction giving my browser information on how and where I spend my money? And if yes why does a fucking browser need this info other than to train LLMs to push shit to me when I ask it questions.

Just installed @perplexitycomet.bsky.social and the payment related flags are really scary. Why does a browser need BNPL payment options built in?

What is Plex even doing? Why is everything tagged as Pop/Rock? Even Burzum and Cannibal Coprse 😑

When they say economy has gotten really efficient, what they mean is that companies, through the use of algorithms have gotten really good at extracting money from consumers pockets.

You have video games studios hiring A List celebrities increasingly for every damn game, and then we wonder why games cost $100+. Gamers aren't even demanding this shit, premiumisation is being forced down out throats.

I've seen videos on twitter of these vigilante groups following trucks in their own jeeps, shooting at the trucks with guns.

So what kind of technology could detect AI generated Media and then clean it up with as little human intervention as possible? Additionally what tools can be used to stop block AI algorithms from scraping data or generating new content on certain platforms?

AI will be the plastic of the next few decades. The initial hype is massive and it has leeched into every digital space imaginable, from work to personal life to art and media. But in some time people will realise how everything is polluted and the need for a massive cleanup operation.

One of the best things about not having a streaming subscription is that you feel less compelled to stay at home and make the most of the these services, and more willing to go out and do things.

And not just by nerfing search tools, but also by littering the internet with meaningless AI slop. They're already pushing AI creative tools to advertisers for exactly this purpose.
