I’ve spent the last year running Linux as my primary OS, deleted everything I can from FB, and only had to use Amazon once. It’s quite liberating. Now I just need to get email off iCloud
This.

Also, why my laptop runs Ubuntu and I have no Meta, Google, or social media apps other than Bluesky on my phone.

(I'd be Microsoft and Amazon free too, expect I need Outlook for work and I just downloaded Audible to listen to "Character Limit.)
One reason why I use Firefox.

Tech companies are feasting off YOUR data. What Musk is doing to the US government is just the logical end of their business model. Your data and your attention are commodified, securitized, repackaged and sold like mortgages before the 2008 crash.

Nah that requires empathy and the capacity to think about someone other than himself. He’s not capable of that.
You would think that the first public reaction from the president after a horrific air crash would be to offer sympathy to the victims and their families, not to wonder why they didn't move out of the way.

Julie Gray, wife of Holocaust survivor Gidon Lev, who joined Musk in his visit to Auschwitz speaks out. She says that Musk felt nothing during the tour & only "cared about how he looked."

She shared this with me privately shortly after the tour, and I'm grateful she made her thoughts public.

Every CEO of every health insurance company should be held liable for any death that results from a denied claim. Our world is failing because the wealthy lack accountability.
Not saying tort law can fix this, but: it sure would help if insurers routinely had to pay millions in damages for unconscionable denials (and were thus incentivized to stop doing them in the first place).

Chris Murphy: "Why is Donald Trump engaged in this relentless campaign to try to silence journalists, media companies, and his political opposition? It's because he's trying to steal from you."
