More pollinators are foraging on the african blue basil today. I also found a jumping spider hanging out on a zenia, hoping for something to catch.

The bees are bearding a little bit in the evenings. This hive gets most of its sunlight at the end of the day. All the foragers come home and have to stay out so the others can vent the heat. The beard shrinks, and by nightfall, everyone is safe inside. #beekeeping

We had a butterfly come to visit one of the hives this evening. This hive gets a lot of evening sun, so the bees were venting heat. The air was filled with the sweet smell of honey.
