See, I didn’t mind that about Legends Arceus. The gameplay loop was so fun that the actual reward felt like a bonus to me lol. If it makes you feel any better, none of that exists in Z-A. There are really no upgrades to work for. Just side quests that give your typical rewards.

I figured as much based on the first game. This is one I plan to play in chunks and in between other games so I expect it’ll take me a good 6 months. 😅

Lmao that’s fair. Her skills definitely seem to be in the more athletic realm: racing, tennis, soccer, floating, hitting things with frying pans and umbrellas… I guess she can’t have it all. 😂

I’d love another Legends game too but hope it is more in the vein of Arceus. Something about the setting and narrative were much more fun and appealing. The survival elements were also fun which was completely absent from this game.

That was me seeing Eevee in Legends Arceus. I was excited with so many Pokémon I met in that game. I’m glad you find your innovation and passion in other games because if Pokémon games were where anyone looked, they’d be miserable. Surprised you haven’t seen other critiques though.

We are at fault to some degree. But for every adult that is going to stop supporting the games, I’d bet at least 2 kids will take their place.

I hope you enjoy Hollow Knight. I know its fans are wild about it. I’m usually playing catch up too. Wanted to start Death Stranding 2 but Yotei was coming when I was ready for it, so I decided to wait lol.

For real. I started the final part on Saturday night thinking ‘I’ll finish tonight.’ But it dragged so bad, I had to hang it up and come back Sunday. 😂

It really is embarrassing given that it’s being made from the world’s most valuable franchise. Leaks have shown they clearly don’t give Gamefreak the resources. An HD-2D style seems like it would be more their speed. I’d love to see it.

My feelings exactly. I had a blast with SV and so did my wife. She’s played a couple hours of this game and hasn’t touched it again. Pretty telling too because she couldn’t stop playing the last 2 games. 😂

Exactly this. If it wasn’t Pokémon, I’d have dropped it early on. Arceus was amazing yet somehow the next game in the series just had all the soul sucked out of it.

We should put more weight into what players have to say anyway. I always appreciate a review from a friend or someone in the community. And I have my issues too but I’m usually able to overlook them for some reason or other like Arceus or SV but this game just didn’t have it.
