Hey, I’m Ryan, enjoyer of video games and anime. I especially love RPGs and JRPGs. Some of my interests include:

Xenoblade
Sekiro
Soulsborne
Valkyria Chronicles
Yakuza/Like a Dragon
Mass Effect
Hades
Horizon
Pokémon
Fire Emblem
Kingdom Hearts
The Legend of Zelda
Monster Hunter [Stories]
Started playing Potionomics and this game has charm! Love the art style, music, voice acting — all stellar. The gameplay loop is fun too even though I suck at it. Has to be the only deck builder game where you want ALL numbers to go up. 😌

My Steam Replay 2025. You can tell when Monster Hunter came out and when I started playing my Switch 2/PS5 later in the year. Sadly spent little time on my Steam Deck but hope to change that next year.

New regret unlocked: not playing Digimon games sooner. Superior to that other popular monster catching game in many, many ways. Cyber Sleuth has been a joy to play and I’m nearing the end. 😌

Stranger Things has had me on a 70s/80s/synthwave kick and I just discovered Journey’s Who’s Crying Now for the first time and just wow

Watched M3GAN 2.0 and it was a great cautionary tale about letting technology outpace legislation. Not as good as the first movie but still fun. I could go for a whole series of these movies now. 😂
I watched M3GAN last night and it was amazing. It was so much more than a murderous doll. It had great themes around grief and attachment, illustrated the pitfalls of tech & AI — a horror in its own right. The tension throughout was immaculate and it was a parody at times but that was the point.

Next year, I’m definitely not tracking/posting about the games I beat. I just want to go where the wind blows and play what I want rather than feel like I’m checking a box on a list. I’ve already been doing that the past couple of months and it’s been fun. 😊

I’m really enjoying Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth. Something about the mechanics and seeing favorites that are a blast from the past. I’m sad that it took me this long to ever play a Digimon game.

An incredible feat and well deserved. I hope this puts the industry on notice. Give us quality games with strong gameplay and/or narratives, make it fun, make it impactful, and drop the bloat.

This is great, but hearing stuff like this only makes me more frustrated with Pokémon games. 😂 Like look at the quality we can get on a “low budget.”

Despite all it's success, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was developed on a shoestring budget of less than $10m, confirms Sandfall CEO.

My 2025 PlayStation Wrap-Up. A stellar year for games. There were so many games I wanted to play but never got the time to.

A few hours into Code Vein and I’m like wtf is going on with this story?? They explained things (maybe too lightly) and it still doesn’t make sense to me lol. It’s a fun souls-like though.

My PS5 has been collecting dust since finishing Ghost of Yotei. Meant to start Death Stranding 2 and just haven’t yet. Instead I’ve been playing Dark Souls 3 and ER Nightreign with friends and started Code Vein, Demonschool, and Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth. 😅

We got a new car! To go from a 20-year-old car to this — feels like I’m in the future lol.

I’m usually against gate keeping but when someone says they’d prefer it if Baldur’s Gate 3 was an action 3rd-person over the shoulder game, I get it.

Maybe we should gate keep.

Our heater has FINALLY been fixed after nearly 3 weeks thanks to our incompetent landlord and their incompetent contractors.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday. This is an out of context meme of HVAC techs and electricians regarding our heater that hasn’t worked for over 2 weeks now. 🙃

This sounds like an arguably good, practical use of AI. However, I offer a different solution. Maybe release seasons yearly like we used to so we don’t need the recap. Don’t think I’ve ever met anyone that liked a show and was happy with waiting 4 years for the next season…

Finished Mega Man Legends and what a fun stroll through nostalgia. We need a modern entry if Mega Man turned into an RPG. Also, how tf does this game come out in 1997 with voice acting but we can’t get that in a certain long running, popular series in 2025??

Years of the paltry PS5 storage and a 1TB PC have taught me “if I don’t need it, delete it.” It prepared me for only 256GB on the Switch 2.
