Why do oppressed people take the religion of their oppressors? The American African slaves, indigenous peoples, the Irish? What makes oppressed peoples cling to the invisible, illogical, obviously not real "Gods" of the people who conquer, torture, and destroy them?

Question... is there anyone on here who is a tax lawyer/a lawyer who understands government finance who would be willing to answer some questions for me about the nations social security? (Not gonna ask personal questions, sooooo far from retirement myself that it's looking like I'll die working)
