Deep dive into the surge in US pedestrian deaths:

"It’s not that more pedestrians are getting hit by vehicles; it’s that the ones that are getting hit are more likely to die."

"[That] seems like fairly strong evidence for the theory that the rise in large SUVs is behind the uptick in ped deaths."
Why Are So Many Pedestrians Killed by Cars in the US?
It’s unfortunately not uncommon for pedestrians to be killed by cars in the US.

👀 Scoop: Trump and Republicans want USPS to sell off its brand new EVs and chargers.

That would mean literally **ripping up post office parking lots** to auction off assets with no private-sector value.

It’s buried in the Senate’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

Analysis | The Republicans' tax bill is projected to add another $3 trillion to the national debt, topping the $2 trillion from their last tax bill. But they also laid off a bunch of park rangers making $50,000 a year, which means they're still the party that cares about deficits.

We could hit 85 degrees today in DC. But on this date, in 1942, we had a double digit snowfall, the most on record so late in the year! Check out the front page of The Washington Post from the day after.

Which would you prefer? 18 inches of snow or 85 degrees?

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.
