my cynical reading of the future -- if Trump's eventually taken down, it's because he's so dumb that he'll eventually make life worse for rich people *too,* and they'll decide to do something -- and thus, for most of us, the fire won't be quenched, but at least the house won't explode

Fantastic history pod that puts a strong effort into drawing you into the time period being covered, eminently accessible. Also The Verge does this in book form as a kind of early modern anthology.
I don’t think I’ve ever done a “Hello Bluesky” post so here we are: I’m Patrick Wyman, I’m a history PhD and I make a history podcast called “Tides of History,” wrote a book about finance and the world around 1500 entitled “The Verge,” and I like lifting weights and eating sandwiches. Greetings!
