I really dislike Astarion. I'm sad that there's not an alternative Rogue companion you could use instead of him. I dislike him so much I'm considering respeccing the Main to be a rogue instead of a Cleric of Tymora so I don't have to use him in the party to find traps and defeat locks.

#1 on my "Never Gonna Happen" wishlist:
A Mission: Impossible / James Bond crossover.

Two connected films, one Mission: Impossible where the MI team keeps being thwarted by Bond as IMF and MI6 pursue competing agendas, one Jame Bond where Bond "goes rogue" and helps Ethan Hunt complete the mission.

TIL that Congressional Districts are not defined in the Constitution. The only Constitutional language speaks as to how many members of Congress each state gets and that those seats be filled by bi-annual elections of the People.

So @mikeselinker.bsky.social how do we get a California-style redistricting initiative on the ballot?

Lessons learned from Cuomo's loss in NY:

1. Almost 40% of voters preferred a disgraced failed governor to Mamdani. The idea that there's been some kind of sea change in the country is deeply wrong.

Lessons learned from Mamdani's win in NYC:

1: He never uses the word "Socialist" or "Socialism"; he doesn't talk about his membership in the DSA.

I added a "game design resources" section to my site: www.petermcpherson.com/game-design-...

This is a collection of mostly free online tools I use regularly, as well as links to excellent podcasts, blogs, and YouTube channels. I hope people find something helpful here! 🎲✂️

The count of detected extrasolar planets has gone over 6k. But something that really bothers me is that much of the coverage of this science uses science fiction without notice. The sum total of extrasolar planets that have been imaged directly such that we can see what they look like is: Zero.
Astronomers Have Found 6,000 Planets Outside the Solar System
From lava worlds to gas giants, NASA says the variety of these worlds is staggering—and that signs of a further 8,000 distant planets are awaiting confirmation.

Wired writer essays about the political changes in tech in the past two years. Writer professes astonishment.

I think what is happening is that the top layer of tech execs are now using horizon AIs (often enabled with features unavailable to the public) to shape their decisions.
I Thought I Knew Silicon Valley. I Was Wrong
Tech got what it wanted by electing Trump. A year later, it looks more like a suicide pact.
