looks like the old Swilly bonfires. council used to bring diggers to make them smaller. local story was that each year before it was lit the council would turn up and remove all the old motorbikes from around the base

You could never describe Plymouth as a beautiful city. Too much of it razed to the ground during the blitz. City rebuilt quickly after the war, so lots of grey, concrete, 3 or 4 storey boxes make up massive proportion of city centre. But this. Jesus man, this. Many more similar as well.

Mugello. With 140,000 Italians at a race track up in the hills of Tuscany. Valentino Rossi era. Chaos doesn’t do it justice. Free buses to & from track from surrounding areas. Capacity of maybe 45. With about 80 on board, and drivers who think they’re on the track. Terrifying. But brilliant.

Glad the relentless heat has buggered off for 5 minutes. In its place this morning we had this. Not long after we had a double rainbow (but it didn’t really show in the pictures). A nice start to a day

I have no idea what this local news story was about. The Tories, the council, the water companies, the trains, no idea. By local news standards it could have been fence blows down or handle on bucket snaps. But it pretty much captured how all news, national local & international, makes me feel.
