This is a lie.

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.

@shuttahbug.bsky.social hey, I wondered where you had been. Thought you may have some "domestics" going on. I know I have not known you as long as other people, but please don't disappear.

One of the best and weirdest parts of being an author is "book signing day". First time I get to see my book, and there are 3000 of the bloody things, all waiting to be signed.

Anyway: coming very soon ...

OK, it's good. A real twisty turny thriller, and from the Decade In Tory writer, very surprising in a good way. Got to go, reading on...

I've been lucky enough to get my hands on an advance copy of Russ Jones' (yes, THAT Russ Jones of 'The Decade in Tory' fame) first work of fiction, 'Baby's Breath'.
It's an astonishingly accomplished crime novel, and it's due out on 1st September. I promise you, it's unputdownable.

As a designer, doing this was fun.

As the author who is self-publishing and responsible for all the marketing, it was terrifying.

Here’s the cover for my first novel, Baby's Breath, a psychological thriller

Sometimes the historical dictionary offers solace through the existence of an obsolete word that is sorely needed now. One of them is ‘respair’, recorded just once, in the 15th century. It means fresh hope, and a recovery from despair.
