It worries me that the alleged drone sightings over the past week or so are causing European leaders to talk about war, and NATO is mobilizing. Troops are being called up. Almost every indication is that the drone sightings are the same bullshit we saw in New Jersey–there may be *nothing* there. 2/

I guess to be fair it's only the user-facing tip of a whole election management system (candidate management, polling cards, statutory notices, electoral registers, ballots, count management, etc) which doesn't feel especially straightforward to replicate.

Civica and Idox provide the election management systems for most local authorities. That's Civica, the Idox equivalent is even more janky-looking:

The court case found that Anthropic's use of the books for LLM training was fair use, so this is just compensation for pirating the books before they used them in training

I can absolutely believe there's a pretty big volume of small-scale tax evasion happening via self-employment.

Making everyone pay for accounting software (and work out how to use it) seems to be the wrong way of fixing it though.

They're trying to encourage people to use actual accounting software which makes it harder for the numbers to get "accidentally" changed as they make their way to HMRC.

At least that's my understanding of the motivation behind MTD.
