Now is the time to remember the charities you usually give to, and new ones you want to give to. As the days grow shorter, think about organizations that help bring homeless folks in from the cold, supply warm clothes, and give hot meals. My charity of choice this year is First United in Vancouver

This would be more useful than any amount of handwringing about how much time young people spend on their phones.
I've called on the Government to extend free bus travel to young people, same as is done for pensioners.

Free buses are a lifeline for many pensioners, and would make a huge difference for young people.

We need a consistent national approach, not a postcode lottery.

Sure, I go to the library for books, but also sometimes I go just to exist in a space that's welcoming, organized, comfortable, judgement-free, and run by knowledgeable, helpful people, because that energy is straight up medicinal.
